Clean Cat Pee Off Couch

If your cat has had an accident on your couch, don't despair. With a little patience and the right cleaning supplies, you can remove the stain and odor and make your couch look like new again.

Materials you'll need:

White vinegar
Hydrogen peroxide (3%)
Baking soda
Clean cloths or paper towels
Vacuum cleaner

Instructions:

Blot up the urine as much as possible. Use clean cloths or paper towels to blot up as much of the urine as you can. Do not rub, as this will only spread the stain.
Apply white vinegar to the stain. Pour white vinegar onto the stain and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. The vinegar will help to neutralize the urine and remove the odor.
Blot up the vinegar. Use clean cloths or paper towels to blot up the vinegar. Blot until the area is dry to the touch.
Apply hydrogen peroxide to the stain. Pour hydrogen peroxide onto the stain and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. The hydrogen peroxide will help to bleach the stain and remove any remaining odor.
Blot up the hydrogen peroxide. Use clean cloths or paper towels to blot up the hydrogen peroxide. Blot until the area is dry to the touch.
Sprinkle baking soda on the stain. Sprinkle baking soda over the stain and allow it to sit for several hours or overnight. The baking soda will help to absorb any remaining moisture and odor.
Vacuum up the baking soda. Use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the baking soda. Be sure to vacuum thoroughly to remove all of the baking soda.
Repeat steps 2-7 if necessary. If the stain or odor is still visible or present, repeat steps 2-7 until the stain and odor are gone.

Tips:

Test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the couch first to make sure it does not damage the fabric.
Do not use bleach to clean cat urine, as this can damage the fabric and make the odor worse.
If the stain is old or set-in, you may need to repeat the cleaning process several times.
If the odor is still present after cleaning, you can try using an enzymatic cleaner specifically designed for pet urine.
