How To Clean Foam Couch Cushions

Foam couch cushions are designed to provide comfortable seating, but they can also be a breeding ground for dirt, dust, and allergens. If you don’t clean your foam couch cushions regularly, they can start to look dingy and smell musty. Fortunately, cleaning foam couch cushions is a relatively easy task that can be done with a few simple tools and materials.

You will need:

* A vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment * A soft brush or sponge * Mild soap * Warm water * A white vinegar * A clean towel

Instructions:

Vacuum the foam couch cushions to remove any loose dirt or debris. Be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.

Mix a solution of mild soap and warm water in a bowl. Dip a soft brush or sponge into the solution and gently scrub the foam couch cushions. Be sure to rinse the brush or sponge frequently to avoid transferring dirt back onto the cushions.

Rinse the foam couch cushions with clean water and blot them dry with a clean towel. To eliminate any lingering odors, mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water and spray the solution lightly over the cushions. Allow the solution to air dry.

If the foam couch cushions are still dirty, you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution. Mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 cup of water in a bowl. Dip a soft brush or sponge into the solution and gently scrub the foam couch cushions. Rinse the cushions with clean water and blot them dry with a clean towel.

Allow the foam couch cushions to air dry completely before replacing them on the couch.
