How To Reupholster A Couch Cushion
If your couch cushions are looking a little tired, don't despair! You can easily reupholster them yourself with a few simple tools and materials. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Materials:
- Upholstery fabric
- Scissors
- Staple gun
- Staples
- Measuring tape
- Pillow stuffing (optional)
Instructions:
1. Remove the old fabric.
Use a seam ripper or scissors to carefully remove the old fabric from the cushion. Be careful not to cut the foam or batting.
2. Measure and cut the new fabric.
Measure the cushion and add 2 inches to each side. Cut a piece of upholstery fabric to this size.
3. Wrap the fabric around the cushion.
Place the fabric on the cushion and wrap it around the edges. Pull the fabric taut and staple it in place around the edges.
4. Trim the excess fabric.
Once the fabric is stapled in place, trim any excess fabric around the edges.
5. Add pillow stuffing (optional).
If you want to make the cushion more plush, you can add some pillow stuffing before stapling the fabric in place. Just stuff the pillow stuffing into the cushion until it reaches the desired firmness.
6. Staple the fabric in place.
Once the fabric is wrapped around the cushion and trimmed, staple it in place around the edges. Make sure to pull the fabric taut and use enough staples to hold it securely.
7. Enjoy your reupholstered cushion!
Your reupholstered cushion is now complete! Enjoy your newly updated couch!
