How To Sanitize Fabric Couch
Fabric couches are a popular choice for many homes because they are comfortable, stylish, and relatively easy to care for. However, they can also be a breeding ground for bacteria and other microorganisms, especially if they are not cleaned regularly.
Sanitizing your fabric couch is an important part of keeping your home clean and healthy. There are a few different ways to do this, depending on the type of fabric your couch is made of.
For Washable Fabrics
- Remove the cushions from the couch and machine wash them in hot water on the delicate cycle.
- Add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle to help kill bacteria.
- Dry the cushions on low heat or air-dry them.
- Once the cushions are dry, vacuum the couch thoroughly to remove any remaining dust or debris.
- Spritz the couch with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it down with a clean cloth.
For Non-Washable Fabrics
- Vacuum the couch thoroughly to remove any loose dirt or debris.
- Mix a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar to 1 gallon of water in a spray bottle.
- Spritz the solution onto the couch, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
- Let the solution sit for a few minutes, then wipe it down with a clean cloth.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the couch is clean.
